Vanessa has always by nature had a passion for creating art through multiple different mediums. Paint, photography, sketch and digital. She gravitates mostly toward the abstract of all things as this allows the freedom of each piece to be uniquely understood and interpreted by the viewer without direct instruction or intrusion to the true nature of the piece from each persons individual perspective and experience.
Vanessa has her own painting studio in her home town of the Gold Coast, Australia, but as travel is a consistent part of her life she wanted to expand the limits of her studio into art she can create from anywhere.
"Exploring and creating across different countries with different mediums, makes art limitless to me. I truly love the freedom it gives me, to not be bound into one location, or one context. Instead, the world is my palette and there's an infinite potential for creativity."
Vanessa’s most recent work forms a collection of photographic imagery that has been sectioned and colour-adjusted to generate abstract expressions of textures, captured to create depth and feel to each individual piece. She spent time exploring and photographing unique elements in the streets of London, she specifically sought out elements that no-one would likely assume as beautiful or identifiable, and worked with these images to create a mixed body of unique pieces - as you'll see in the photographic collection below.
“In one of the busiest cities in the world, we can find inspiration and appreciation in the most uncommon of things."
